OUR MODEL OF CARE

Bridging the Gap in Residential Care
Lemur Care provides specialised residential services for children and young people aged 12-17 with complex needs who may not thrive in traditional care settings. Our bespoke solo placements offer personalised attention without the need for secure accommodation.
We recognise the importance of family and community connections, so we prioritise local placements to maintain strong ties with family, friends, and local support services - ensuring continuity of care and a more integrated, holistic experience.

Our Model of Care
We implement a therapeutic model of care underpinned by Attachment Theory, Trauma-Informed Care, Person-Centered approaches, and Restorative Principles. This model incorporates the Secure Base Model, Positive Behaviour Support, and Evidence-Based Assessment to create a nurturing and caring home for young people. We use the BERRI Assessment Tool to ensure a consistent, evidence-based evaluation of care and outcomes for the young people we support.
Our approach to learning and behavior management is based on Logical Learning Experiences, which we call “LEAP Outcomes” (Learning, Evolving, Adapting, and Planning). This method helps children develop understanding and responsibility in a nurturing environment. LEAP Outcomes provide a therapeutic, structured and flexible way to understand and manage experiences of challenging behaviour, promoting growth, repair, restoration, and learning.
The BERRI Process
The BERRI assessment checklist gathers information around five themes. At Lemur Care, we use this clinical evaluation tool to identify, track and improve outcomes for children with complex needs. We believe that each child is a product of their experiences, and that every child is fundamentally resilient, can progress and can succeed
